Crewchief - I've yet to see a post from you that was at the least polite!

Reality check for me tonight! My oldest came down to watch survivor and what did she have on but my favorite "bum around" shirt! I've been looking for that thing for months and her response to my "where did you get that from!" - 'you gave it to me mom!" Now mind you, I loaned it to her -once. Once. Not - here, take it!

:( Oh lord, it now begins....... the steady decline of my clothes and shoes (yes, she wears my size, an 8). Whats being served tonight? I'll have a double!

By the way Shawn, ALL men are extremely handsom in their uniforms - and I'm sure you are no exception! ;)

Shawn, my twin brother hated it the first time he had to salute my dad. Dad loved it! Now little bro is enlisting so he'll get to know the fun of that soon enough.

OK - note to self - do not respond to a post when you're really, really mad at someone else. Judgement gets clouded.....

I think I've finally discovered why I'm reluctant to call the local PTO ladies. It sure is a lot easier to be an armchair quarterback.

Its the womens cover (hat)!!!! (Its just to boxy-looks like a DI cover that a recruit ran over with a deuce and a half)- the skirts are OK and show off a little leg so its not masculine looking.

I do like the fact that now Enlisted and Officers have similar look- hated going to family functions in Green while everyone else had dress blues

Did you know??
The German U-boat U-552 sank the destroyer USS Rueben James on October 31st, 1941, with a loss of 115 of 160 of her crew. However, on a peaceful Sunday morning five weeks later, America's neutrality would come to an end.

Thanks for the photo d! I agree, they could work a little harder on the women's uniforms. Frankly, I'd rather wear what the men are wearing.

LUV - Go get 'em!

Where's beignets? Did she change her member name and I'm just out of the loop on it? I miss her quotes. Here's one hubby threw at me today in defense of his job/family business/hobby overlap:

“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both.”

I'd spout something about liberalism and it stupidity but....

NO, NO, NO

Discussing how the media sensationalized the stories (without specifics of the story- what Adult needs to know how she died??)
Discussing not to talk to strangers, how peers treat each other, predators would maybe be okay

But disussing "homophobia" and how a child died- this teacher needs to find a new line of work !!!! Go write for CSI
