yep, i prefer the trashy one to all the smart ones. i figure being invovled in PTO is all the serious stuff i can take. I need a good book to take to the bathtub with me. Takeing Obama (spelling) to the tub just doesn't sound right.

Here is something I read from the book that really made me stop, re-read and think how much I have seen this every day life around me.

I've read Flags of our Fathers. Haven't read The Audacity of Hope but would like to. It's on audio book now so if you have more time to listen than read, it may be a good choice. I haven't seen Obama in person but have heard him speak on tv and radio. I like many things about him. If it comes down to McCain v Obama, McCain unquestionably has my vote. But if it's Obama v anyone else, then it's Obama.

I think we'll spend the day finishing our shopping and decorating. Shorty has semester finals next week and gets out at 10:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I think those will be our baking days!

Aye yi yi, Karate on Thursday and arms - shoulders - back in the gym on Friday. I'm paying for that today! My karate instructor was trying to teach me a new technique. I got my butt thrown on the floor about a dozen times and my right arm is still numb. I'm practicing that move all weekend so I don't get thrown on the floor again! The scary thing is that even when I was on the floor with her knee in the back of my head, I could still sense that she wasn't giving it even close to all she had. Powerful! Guess that's why she's a 5th degree black belt and I'm a puny little white belt... Time to break out the Tylenol and get on with my day. Maybe we'll see a movie too!?!?!?

I am DONE shopping as of 8:40 this evening. It took me 35 minutes just to get a gift card at Kohl's! It took less than that to buy a few presents, some groceries, and chat with an old teacher at Walmart.
I took some Zicam and I'm feeling a bit better. If I'm lucky, I won't have to go anywhere tomorrow and can get a bit of rest. (yeah right)

Silver, let me know about the book. I haven't had time to read anything but it is on my list. I did have to opportunity to hear him speak in person and he is very motivating, regardless of your political views. He just makes you want to get involved and have a voice. I read John McCain's Flags of our Fathers awhile back and thought it was worth the time. I really don't read a lot of non-fiction, books have to pull me in and hold me there for them to get finished in a realistic amount of time.

Would anyone like some Chai? I can spike it upon request.

Okay time for a new topic subject ... this crazy post is starting to get to me and I refuse to read it for sanity sake.
As previously posted, I took some time out and decided to pick up a book. After all the conversation around this person I decided to read Barack Obama's new book. I know, I know some of you may be shrieking due to the political line. I haven't read any other piece of work by him but after so much conversation about him as of late I felt I should find out more about him. I am not far in the book, I find myself pausing in thought and re-reading here and there, but find it interesting to read so far.

T - it's the Crazy Volunteer post under Involvement Ideas and Challenges. Some people just seem to come in here looking for a fight - or starting one.

Whew, crazy shopping day today but now I'm nearly done! Woo Hoooo. Last stop was at Kmart. They only had two registers open and one broke while I was 6th in line. I stared down the jewelry counter lady until she finally announced that she'd take customers with 10 items or less. I swear she must have somehow scanned my cart and saw that I had 13 items! Being the rebel that I am I strolled on over anyway, preparing to state that I had TWO extension cords, TWO bags of M&Ms and TWO packs of ornament hooks so technically speaking I only had 10 types of items. Luckily she sensed my mood and didn't challenge me.

Now it's pizza and movie night. YIPPEE!!!!!
