Scottmom, it sounds like you missed your calling. You can specialize in small animal medicine so you can skip the cows and horses! I know I wouldn't want to work with something big enough to kick my head off my shoulders if I made a wrong move! When I met my husband, his family still had their dairy herd. I loved feeding the calves and scratching the cows heads. One of those Holsteins about stepped on me one time though. Those are BIG COWS!!! Then there are the bulls-too scary for me.

I'm wishing for family programming too. If it's on Disney it's so hokey I don't enjoy it and the other networks seem to have stretched their definitions of what is appropriate language to include anything you'd hear in a bar. Bring back Andy Griffith!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

We only had 25 acres with a small pond of catfish. We raised game birds-pheasant, quail, peacocks, exotics, etc. I took care of the animals because I got paid in animals that I sold and took to auction. Now we live on 3 city lots with 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs (and 3 boys). My husband keeps trying to talk me into vet school because I'm really good with animals-I call it farm kid sense. The dog dislocated one of his toes (he's still a big awkward pup) and the vet "supervised" me putting it back into place and gave us pain meds cause I wouldn't hurt him without something for the pain and refused to charge us for the visit. He also offered to write me a letter for the vet program. I keep telling my husband I don't want to deliver horses in the middle of the night or stick my arm in cows but he just laughs. It is nice to know there are still career options out there for me other than having babies and pulling out my hair over our school!
My mom always said the hardest part about baking is the details-temp, time, type of pan. She has a habit for burning the simplest things but she makes the best gravy.
I never got into 24 either. I think it started on a night/time when I watched something else. I have never cared for Fox's ads for their shows. I never gave House a shot until I caught it on USA one night. The ads don't do it justice. My other problem with Fox shows is that they are always changing the day and time. That drives me crazy. My new favorite is The Class. There are not enough good comedies out there that I feel comfortable watching with my kids. Whatever happened to family programming?

Chores-- that's why my daddy had 5 kids-- we were the only ones rolling out of bed at 4:30 on a cold Indy morning...:( 98 Acres... we had 50 I'd love to live on that many again.

Girly stuff.... Not me (although there is a rumor that a bunch of my squad dressed up once for a halloween bash as girls.. No Pix so the rumor is absolutely FALSE)... Au natural for me ;) - though I do like when the girls get all gussied up.

Crew---we got the llamas about 2 years ago. Went to get one llama and ended up bringing home 2 llamas and 2 goats LOL!! To add to the rooster and hen and 9 ducks, 2cats, chihuhua, hamster and bunny. And 4 kiddos! LOL--Yes I live in a zoo LOL!! Everyone thinks the llamas are kinda cool--nope they have never spit on any of us--saw them spit once at each other but they were fighting--they are really easy to take care of--throw them a bucket of feed once a day--shave them in the summer--put straw in the stalls and as far as cleaning up poo-poo they go in the same place in the field everytime--The kids are wanting to look into getting a horse or two so we may end up getting rid of the llamas when spring comes(hubby has looked into giving them to a farm who has a petting area and stuff--that way we could go see them still). The boys were so into the llamas when we got them but I mean theres not alot you can do with them--so they are thinking pigs or horses next summer LOL!! I keep trying to bribe them with another 4 wheeler and no more animals--somehow I seem to always be the one taking care of them when the newness wears off LOL--but thats with everything I expect. And hubby is so why not we have the room and the kids are only young once. I am like yeah but I am getting older lol and cleaning stalls wasn't what this CITY girl thought she would be doing when she was 30 LOL!! Don't get me wrong--love the country and wouldn't move back to town if they paid me but rolling out of bed at 4:30 every morning gets OLD ESPECIALLY SINCE ITS COLD OUT THERE!!!

This above all: to thine own self be true.

I have a small round mirror in my house with this lovely saying around the frame. It's a gentle, daily reminder to be true to myself regardless of what the day brings.

d - you're a lucky, lucky woman! Hubby is saying to take time for yourself, do things you enjoy. Clearly he loves you for who you are! If the girly thing isn't for you, that's cool.

For six months out of the year (racing season) it isn't for me either. You cannot work on an engine with acrylic nails on! Hair style & color doesn't matter when it's mostly full of ATF and 10w30 anyway. And a pedicure is a waste of money since you have to have full shoes on in the garage! I feel like I spend so much "guy" time during the season that once it's over I need to reconnect to the girly stuff.

Ohio - Llamas, huh? That's fun!

I don't watch 24 because I'm afraid I'd get addicted. I love Keifer but he went on a strange tangent for awhile where it seemed he played every creepy, deviant role he could get his hands on. Didn't watch much of the Golden Globes. It was on as I moved about the house though. Mmmmm, Clint Eastwood. He's simply the coolest man ever. I heard my twin, Meryl, won an award but I missed that part. I'm sure she was as beautiful and eloquent as ever. Warren Beatty, really? He must have something going for him that I just don't see. It must be a longevity award out of sympathy because there's no talent. He just refused to go away.

D-My husband wants me to do stuff other than volunteering and killing myself for nothing as he puts it, but he doesn't like how much those things cost.

Luv-my husband builds and installs electronics so there is no discussing with him. He buys the components and builds what he wants. We already have wire run, it's not really expensive but I know what you are talking about. He did a system for his brother-in-law and he bought the wire and my husband couldn't figure out why he would spend so much. This is a guy that's always over the top, so I guess it's just him.

I've got an eye doctor to visit with the middle child to get him so new glasses because he keeps breaking his. They aren't the best looking but my husband has learned to soder them pretty good. I think they should just give him some goggles! Have great day.
