qtlilli - oh MY,,,, changes in the supt every year, OK now i get it , so its really a case of NO EXIT by Jean Paul Sartre. (or, go to your BOE with a team of like-minded parents,,,,,thats all I can think of).

And yes, I realize all my ideas were a bit outer space variety, I too wouldnt see those as viable options for personal reasons. But many around here have gone that route.....OK heres one more,,,how about what Grace C is doing.....MOVE to another district (that you know for fact is better managed). Draconian, but hey, kids have only one chance at under undergrad education......

YOu know though Crew, it's to a degree that the will step in. Ours finally went away when it was mentioned we were going to bring in the ACLU. Most just want a christian education atmophere and forget that some of us like our own Bibles better. Mines pretty and a family treasure :).

Been there, going to Dr. Phil about that!! HA

This is going to sound a little crazy but what if it's just a matter of letting them fail to show the other events are so beloved with the school.
I'm not really fond of the petition either, it worries me that you will become a trouble maker than a parent that is conserned.

Is there really absolutly no comprimise at all? I do feel for you in regards to the games. Our church has (no religious talk just example ;) ) has a halloween party and tons of games. Our new Assoc. Pastor tried to throw away our beloved games and nearly had a riot on his hands! I digress...

It just conserns me that this is so absolute! We had Jehova (I know my spelling is off!) Witnesses for many years in our charter school and still have several Morman families. More of a problem with the Witnesses telling us no flags in hte classrooms or in the entry of the school (my head was scratchn' too) etc. We still have a few families but the main parents are now long gone but it was hard to negotiate with them! Very!

I'm not very good wih absolutes when other families are involved. Why can't there be both events?! You know this could be the one time when "when in Rome do as the Romans do" doesn't have to apply! ;) :D
OR better yet...Let them do math!

Oh My!! You have even more problems than Fun Fair and Santa's Workshop. I feel for you.

You may not have an acting superintendent, but your principal and his staff answer to someone. Perhaps you can check with the local, county and state BOEs?

If religion is driving the decisions of a public school, I'm sure the ACLU would have plenty to say. That may sound extreme but so does the behavior you describe.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

I have thought about all your other options as far as schooling..and with 4 kids I would be broke sending them all to private school, as far as home schooling..lol are you crazy!!!lol we dont have any charter schools in our area but wow would it be great to start one. thanks for your suggestions.

"Our problem is..our princible and a few teachers who have lost their love for the kids and teaching. "
"What can we do as a school to insure that everything that is special to the parents and kidders is not thrown away too? "

How about take your concerns to the super and or the next school board meeting? Sounds like your issues are ripe for the next level up.

And ref "Religion is ruling the decisions that get made in our school. We cant even have a halloween party!! " Halloween is pagan. How can anyone object to that on religious grounds??

Good luck. (I could also suggest charter school, private school or homeschool OR else the long winding road ahead with runins with your admin.)
