I fully agree with you. The only way to protect our kids--especially when we are not around is to let them know that he is a bad person and has done bad things to kids and to steer clear of him no matter what. As far as the comment that she is violating his rights --what about the rights of the person he violated. I don't know what state you are in but in Michigan the public has a right to know when there is an offender in their area and we have the right to post pictures if this person poses a threat! He broke the law--not those kids! Hurray for someone willing to take a stand! [img]smile.gif[/img]
I would like your opinion on an issue that has arose.
On the front door to the school today was a picture of a registered sex offender who has been seen within an approximate half mile of our school. There are three elementary schools within this approximate half mile, a Catholic, Luther and Public. We are the Public school. This registered sex offender was seen at the Catholic school. The principal feels that posting this is a way for parents to be actively involved in our childrens safety, and also help the children know to steer clear of him and notify an adult. I agree! She also feels as though she may be discrimanating against him. My opinion is, if he didn't want his picture plastered on the door, then he should not have done what he did, and should not be hanging around the elementary schools. I feel that this was a wise choice, as it lets everyone know to be on the look out for him and keep our students safe. What is your opinion??? :confused:
