What is your thoughts as to who a PTO is there to service. Do you feel it is for just the students? Or do you feel it is for the teachers also? I met with my board last week and a little heated discussion came when I asked how the board felt about purchasing a little something to welcome the teachers. All it was was a bag of lifesavers with a card that told them how we appreciated them a "hole" lot. I couldn't believe the responses I received. My argument was that - yes, we are there for the teachers also. Some didn't agree. I was happy I didn't mention wanting to have a small bagle arrangement with coffee and juices too. I think they would have handed my head to me. (Just FYI - this is my first year as Pres. - so I don't want to step on too many toes).
