one can google their names and find them thru public avenues...tehre is no such thing as protection of street address anymore. it jsut is not good relations with public, to make the public take such steps to find teh address. some districts post bios, emails, home address, work phone, of hteir bd member on the district website. it all depends on the accessibilty they want to be viewed with.

I would not be suprised if many school baord members did not provide their home address to prevent harassment from people in the community. We have many people who have "entitlement issues" than they do "appreciative comments"of the people who spend their tax money.

Any school board member can be written to at the school district office address. No need to publish.

Ademom - thanks for the note...I guess I'm the eternal optimist and really do think that if you build it they will come. I've seen so many AMAZING things that our PTO and school have done this year...and think that the positive energy that's such an integral part of our PTO has a hand in hand relationship with our success. I too thank our teachers personally (and get their classrooms adopted every year--well at least the 3 that my children are in now) and really do find that the positive energy gets returned.
Volunteer--I can't believe in this day and age that you don't have email access to your teachers. We just printed our directory and put all our teachers work emails in there...it is a huge communications tool....maybe somebody needs to kick a little bottom over there....dianna

dlf,
Nothing to add but just wanted to say that your post was very sweet. I know that I tend to get cynical about schools and administation but that is political stuff. The heart of every school is it's teachers.

Something that I do at the end of each school year is to take a look back at my kids educational experiences. If I feel it was a positive year, I write a e-mail to the teacher saying as such. I copy the principal, superintendent and the president of the board of education on the post as well. Praise is good but it's better when it's stated to the right people.
