We do chair massages for our teachers during their lunch break on each day of the week with the exception of the day that we do the "big" luncheon.

Do you hold meetings to decide what you will do? How many people are on teacher app. committe? We had a meeting last night and only three of us showed up! THis is my first year and I don't know how to pull this thing off!

I'm not sure how they have done this in the past, but this year we are going to be asking for donations for prizes to give our teachers.

Just not sure if I should call them, go see them personally, or write them letters. Any suggestions??

We have asked the parents this year if they would rather make a dish or donate money to buy the food and so far about 80% would rather send the money. And some already have.

Is there generally a budget for a teacher appreciation committee or do the volunteers pitch in on thier own?

Additionally, will companies donate prizes for Teacher Appreciation Luncheons? Curious.

"my3strongtikes - "We are doing the typical luncheon on one day and during the week we have raffles for prizes for each grade level."

Does your PTA buy the prizes for the raffle or did you send out letters asking for prizes from companies, parents, etc... Please let me know. I would like to do a raffle for the teachers at my school (3 different schools - maybe two prizes for each school), but I'm not sure how to get the prizes. All suggestions welcomed.
