We publish our newsletter monthly. I do it in Word. It's one page, but on the other side we have a Spanish version since we have a 20% ELL population. I use the site freetranslation.com Usually, I can get a bilingual parent to proof-read it to check for any idiomatic errors, but not always. The site does make some mistakes, so does anyone know of any other good free translation sites? We also have a large Creole population.

We send ours out monthly. I try to do it around the first day of the month. I am way behind this month. If there isn't alot going on with with events then I really talk up the importance of volunteers and parental involvement. I also try to give out contact info of our officers. I think the more you inform the more interest you will keep. Even if parents aren't able to help due to work or other obligations then they have something to talk to their child about.

We do ours every other friday. Some issues contain alot of stuff, some don't, but there's always something. We keep a running column of dates to remember which never runs out of content. We include upcoming events, teacher interviews, student government news, etc. To most of our parents, it's a valuable tool ... a good way to stay in the loop when you can't be at the school. Good luck!

We do our newsletters quarterly. We use to do them monthly, but they were never out on time. Besides the quarterly newsletter, we do a weekly reminder. They are simple. It is just a couple of sentences reminding parents of upcoming events.
