As a new pres. this year, I went on a personal level with the teachers and sent them a wish list to fill our along with a letter from me. I have those you want them. I wrote how I am always out and about looking for a bargain and if one comes my way I can pick things up for them. I know they work from 7:30-4pm and go home to thier own kids and then have to still correct papers and etc. Email me if you want copies of that.

Our PTA hosts a Back-To-School luncheon for the teachers and staff on the Friday before school starts. Our Principal gives a nice little "to do" about our PTA and encourages each teacher and staff member to join. Then the President says a quick hello and also invites/encourages them to join us. We place our information along with our membership envelopes on each table for easy access. ;) This year we're doing a fajita lunch. Last year it was a baked potato bar.

Hope this helps,
Holly

I would try to start from scratch so to speak. Maybe send out a survey to the teachers, have a few meetings after school so that the teachers can come. Also ask them personally to come to the meeting especially the new teachers. I think a personal invitation is better than a piece of paper. Even just saying to them "we would love to see you at the meeting".

HTH

Good Luck

I am the secretary for my daughter's elementary school Parents Club Organization, and in the past (several years back) there were some issues with the PTO and the Teachers, and the PTO was very clique'y (sp?), and due to those issues (I wasn't even around to know what happened) there is no Teacher Involvement. There are maybe 2 teachers who will come to a meeting here and there to request funds and/or assistance. We have alot of new teachers who may want to become involved, but how do we invite them, or tell them about us? I'm looking for any and all suggestions that you have and can help me with... I'm working on typing up materials now...

Thanks in advance,
Amber
