Who are your PTO members?

Actually, out of the 15 they had an election for the board. I am positive that it is only 15 members due to the fact that it written in the bylaws. Their bylaws state that a new member has to be nominated by someone in the group and then under a closed session they will pick the new members. I am so glad some have responded so quickly because time is of the essence as the next meeting is in about a week. I guess I need some encouragement to continue to press this issue.

LOL, the mommy sorority.

That is so wrong it is comical.

Some (many) parents at our school think our group is a clique, despite our regular communications and invitations to attend meetings and events. It's like noone reads them.

Maybe we should pretend we only have about 15 of us working (3 most days) because we are an exclusive club. It might make us feel better sometimes. :)

If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down. <img src=images/smilies/smile.gif>

You're positive these aren't just the officers of the PTO and perhaps these are board meetings they're having? Just an idea..

A Parent Teacher Organization that doesn't allow Parents to be members?

Agreed. Have never heard anything like it. Don't see any upside to it, unless I'm missing something.

Wow, that's a horrible way to run a "parent group". How does the school feel about this? I don't even know what to say except, Wow! It's not a fraternity! Absolutely change this by any means necessary. Start a real parent group if you have to.
