Photcopies.....

This is the first year that our PTO has had to provide our own paper. With our school budget cuts paper is now a "hot commodity". We are free to use the school copiers.

Our principal does review everything that goes out - an extra pair of eyes never hurts! I believe her request to review is both because she needs to be "in the loop" and she checks for typos and to be sure we are within district regulations.

We supply our own paper and copy them at school. Last years principal didn't ask for approval unless it went out on school letterhead. This years principal wants prior approval of everything.

Just wanted to say, in regards to my post, about not having to get any approval for notices: We do give the principals and Superintendent a copy of all notices and newsletters that are distributed for their information and to keep them in the loop. In fact, everyone in the buildings get a copy, even cafeteria staff! Since I am a punctuation and spelling fanatic, very rarely is there any major spelling problems... although it CAN happen! LOL!!! :D

We supply our own paper and copy them at school at no cost. AS far as approval from the principal she has to approve anything that is going out. not only does she ask this from our group but also from teachers who send out a weekly classroom letter.I truly can't think of anything that she has not allowed to go home or in our section of the school newsletter. The worse part is waiting for approval...that can take days and i might have to remind her. I have learned to start way before i actually need it!

We do not pay for a thing for our copies or the paper.

We do have to pass our stuff by the principal. But mainly it is just to keep him in the loop. He does not want to look like an idiot if a parent or teacher asks him about something and he has no idea what they are talking about.

We have to pay for our own paper, but can use the school copier as we like. We usually buy our paper right from the school's supply.

Anything done by our group (or any other group, for that matter) that gets distributed through the school must be approved by the principal. She looks at it mostly for policy type issues, not looks and grammar (unfortunately). I can only think of one thing last year that she really had a problem with, and it related to a flyer on a chess club tournament that our chessmaster was distributing. Her objections to it were quite valid. So, we've never had an issue with it.
