Difficult-Negative Member-past president

15 years 8 months ago #146302 by Cathy0710
My president and I as well as many other members are struggling with one member in particular. Background:

She was president for one year. Had no goals, and membership went down the drain. She was hard to work with and barked orders to parents at all events. She decided that she did not want to be president for a second term.

Another lady was voted in and from that very day, this past president has been more than "difficult" to deal with. She is loud and negative at every single meeting we have, she has not attended any events we have hosted and is a "negative nelly" about everything we do.

We have a goal this year for a new program at our school that we have to raise money for throughout the school year to pay for it. So far we have been very successful and we are bringing in a lot more families.

I'm sure it is a jealousy issue and she has made mention to others that she was "thrown" out when in fact she made it very clear that she didn't want the position!

What do you do about very big mouthed vocal people? I am at my wits end and don't want to embarass myself at meetings by sinking to her level.

Has anyone else had such negativity and how did you handle it??????
