Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about talking to the PTO president but his schedule is insane and it is super hard to get ahold of him (yes, our PTO president is a male). I think I'm going to talk to the person who has held this position for the past 6 years, and see what she suggests. I will go to the president...I just need to figure out when. You're right, it is too early in the year and I don't want to make a huge deal out of this before we even get started!!!!

Hmmmm-sounds to me like it's time for SUPER PRESIDENT...to step in. It would be a good idea for her to call the treasurer and get the two of you together. If the fundraiser is one the board wants to do that's terrific, and the treasurer can even be the chairman, but the VP for fundraising is there for a reason and while I don't think you need to be too territiorial (after all if it works you were the Fundraiser VP and the kids get the benefit and if it tanks you can claim ignorance ). So--my advice, worth the weight of one sold chocolate chip cookie, is speak to the President and see how she cares to proceed. But don't turn this into a fight...for personalities like that it's better to give them two paddles so they can sail into the sunset faster than to raise a fuss and make it into "a thing". It's just too early in the year...
Good Luck...

I've been a member of the PTO since my daughter started kindergarten. She is now in the 3rd grade. This year I agreed to be the Fundraiser VP for our PTO. The new treasurer was telling me about a fundraiser that has supposedly been scheduled for November. I told her that we already have 3 or 4 fundraisers lined up and that we just can't do another one until after the holidays. When I asked her for the name and number of the contact, she gave me the run around and wouldn't give me the info. I tried to be nice and explain why I needed it but she still wouldn't give it to me. I feel that since I am in charge of fundraising, I have the right to know what fundraisers are going on and when. Am I wrong in feeling this way? Our conversation ended with her being quite rude to me about it. Short of quitting before the year even starts, I don't know what to do. I know that I am new at this but so is she and I think that we need to respect each other and work together as well but I just don't see that happening. This is a very aggressive person and she will fight anyone that doesn't let her have her way. Any suggestions out there? Should I have handled the situation differently? I would appreciate any advice!!!!

Thanks
