Presidential Control Freak

It is sad that we can't help each other out. This person had very legitimate concerns. We are here to help each other not be mean or negative. This should be a "safe" place to bounce our ideas off of each other. You need to do whatever you have to do to protect your school and if that means going to the superintendant...then that is what needs to happen. It can all be done in a professional manner. Talk to the president first, then principal, then super. Keep going until you get answers. Like others have said...just get all your ducks in a row. "I am worried, because...." "I see ______ and ________ happening." Add in the facts, not just feelings. Detail what you have tried to do on your end - how you have tried to rectify the situation.
Good Luck

I would suggest that the concerned person talk
directly to the "president" in an open-minded
manner, without accusatory and judgemental comments. This will only set the stage for
name slaying, and humiliation.
What right does this person have to make such
judgemental statements as" initimidates the other
board members into silence,", and "she has been having some personal situations such as divorce,
new job,recent move. "Red flags"
That is no one's business, this person does not
know "the situation" and if she did she wouldn't be going to a web site looking for input.
My thoughts are to talk to the person directly,
if she isn't open to conversation, or things don't go as hoped, then get someone else's "opinion"
But don't slander him/her or "initimidate" them
by going public on a website. That will only make
the "issue" worse.

cfp,

What else is a message board for? I can assume H.A. Hogue is the original posters real name, but I have no idea. H.A. didn't name the individuals involved so they are anonomous. The chances that anyone knows the particular situation H.A. is talking about are quite remote.

It may have been obvious to you to talk to the person, but either it wasn't to H.A. or H.A. was looking for other way to handle a situation. H.A. could take the advice in the thread, adapt it or even ignore it. Same thing with any reader who finds themselves in a similar situation.

To me, this was an entirely reasonable request, presented in a appropriate format.

FEAR
No it's not a right but it sure is a feelings and consern when we are working with people that are handing thousands and thousands of dollars that we have helped our children raise in order to make their school just a little bit better.
Within this forum dissusion often turns to money that has been taken from our groups and when there is no open dissusion or even honest talk about checkbook balances there are whispers amoust members.

I don't beleive if the President would talk to anyone honestly and in a way their problems/issues could be resolved would H.A. even be here. Plus, My previous posts are my ideas and thoughts not absolute solutions on how to handle this issue.

The main issue is the PTO is not happy with their President, H.A. is here for advise.

It sounds if H.A. Hogue has tried asking the pres. about this & receives no responses. What is that pres. trying to hide? It is public info as to the balance of the pto acct. & how much was made/spent. These message boards are for everyone to seek advice about pto/pta problems they may have & some one else might have gone through something similar. Apparently you are here on this web site answering. People are here for advice, help, to share..... If we are to give advice, the person needs to give us their story in order to give our input. We are in it for the kids.
