Our school recently held one and made nearly $700! Can't beat that for three hours work. It helped that we had beautiful weather and soccer and little league practices had families out that evening. That's not stuff that you have much control over when you schedule your McTeacher's night, but something to keep in mind...

Just last week our school had theirs, I'm not sure how much was raised, its run thru the school not our PTA.
I think most McD's will do it and donate 10-25% of proceeds. (ie 4-7pm)

out here in California McD's, Wendy's, Baja Fresh and Sizzler have similar programs.

A Wendy's in our area approached us wanting to "adopt" us. The second Tuesday of each month is our day- from 4-9pm we get 10% of the sales. We have gotten anywhere from $67.- $200. Every little bit helps and we only remind the parents and community of the day! (Wendys even provides us with the flyers to send home!) Our local McDonalds has donated apple pies, etc for dinners etc. but not much else.

I think you just have to call because they are independently owed and not all participate. One company owns like 5 or 6 in our town and they have a waiting list and then try to match those schools with the closest one. Ours was a small one and wasn't the closest to our school and I think we could have made quite a bit more at the closer store. They did give us $500 and I won't complain about that.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

we did one and made a little over $200.00 but it wasn't really in walking distant to our school so it made it hard for people who don't drive.

Is it just certian McDs? That may sound like a stupid question but I know some franchises like KFC are owned by two corps.
