I've no idea what's standard, but the year I wrote the above response, the charged something like:

1 space = $10
2 spaces = $15
3 spaces = $25

This one was probably more of community relations event than a fundraiser. But I wouldn't think people would be willing to pay too much for the space. Otherwise they'd just stay home. As great as a group garage sale is, people still have to haul everything to the central site. So that's the down side when recruiting folks.

myboysr2.. i think it's only CT and MA that say "Tag Sale" LOL I smiled when someone asked what a tag sale was..... sorta like grinders, subs,or hoagies.. all depends on region!

How much do you all usually charge for one parking space?

Thank You Jennifer. I did not think about doing it as separate events. How did you advertise the Vender Fair. How much time and preparation did that take?

Tag Sale- We had a tag sale at the end of September - we raised over $2200 in one day of sales. We rented a uhaul truck W, TH, F and parked in the school parking lot from 3-5pm,, later on Friday. As parent donated items for the tag sale we tagged it and placed it in the truck.
Actually Thursday night we had to empty the truck in to one parent garage. On Sat we set up section- kids, clothes, books, furniture, etc. We had a bake sale and one main checkout.
Everything that did not go - went to Once Upon a Child, the local library, and then Big Sister/Big Brothers picked up the rest... alot of work but worth it in the end.

Vendor Fair - During our Teacher/Parent Conf at night the week after Thanksgiving we have a Vendor fair - mostly Home Party companies that sell their stuff. We charge $50 and a donation to our raffle. We usually have about 20 vendors and earn about $200-300 on the drawing...It simple now...

Hope that Helps - Jennifer
