BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLY PACKS

Hi AnnieGirl-

My son's school doesn't do supply packs and I don't know of any other school in our district that does this.

I don't know how much these packs cost in comparison to shopping at WalMart, Target or the Dollar Store, but I guess I would have a hard time justifying doing this type of thing to make money for the PTO. Back to school supplies are necessities and not optional (as in other fundraisers) and back to school tends to be a very expensive time for many families and especially families with several children anyway.

My son enjoys the ritual of shopping for school supplies so it wouldn't appeal to me to pre-purchase supplies.

Just my opinion- maybe this is more acceptable in certain regions of the country than others?

Have any of you used the Harcourt Outlines company for Back to School supply packs. I received a catalog and am getting quotes on back to school packs that are individually boxed etc. Thinking of maybe doing it as a fundraiser or as a service to the parents. Just wondering if any of you have ever used them or gotten these back to school packs. Thanks.
