Sound like a good summer project, a meet at my house and we'll send these out for the start of school (I've just now officially borrowed it for my school)

I'm not sure where you all are, but around here we got backpacks full of school supplies donated ( for some of our more unfortunate students) by walmart, sams club and costco. We got 100 of them for nothing and each one with the backpack was worth about $30. Just a thought. Not all parents can afford all of the stuff at one time that a teacher wants! It was nice to be able to help out a little. FYI they did all request a 4-6 week window to get it all together!

We did our own supply kits last year (our first time doing kits). It was pretty easy and as I realize now after researching companies, we saved a TON of money by doing it ourselves. We just shopped the sales at the local stores. That's the most time consuming part, but with a little effort and some organization it came off without a hitch. We were able to sell kits for $25 each regardless of grade level. We had good quality products packed in "kit" boxes just like the companies. We had 30% participation and made a worthwhile profit!

OOOOOHhhhh o.k. well now that makes sense. That's a nice way of doing it. At least they feel they are handling it physically in some way. I just can't see why anyone would say no to this. It's so convenience and just as cost effective as some of those stores out there. And who wants to wait on long lines for crayons? Not me and my girls. I would rather be on line waiting for shoes! LOL.

AnnieGirl,

We will have them set up to be distributed to the families who will then take them to their child's room/teacher. That way they know that that box of school goodies is theirs and they are contributing it to their classroom.

Holly,
Thank you for the information on that other company. I ordered a quote from them for our supply packs. Why do you have them available at meet-the-teacher night? Do these supplies go home with the kids or are they to be used in the school? Thanks.
