Has anyone used Big retailer programs/ matching grant programs?

My old school did a car wash and Walmart was to match the receipts. It took almost 18 months after to get the $. It was no end of phone calls and run around. Would not suggest using them.

At our Walmart, the forms are in an area in the lay-away department .. not sure if its different at every Walmart.

Best bet is to talk to someone at the Customer Service Desk and/or ask for the Manager. They should be able to send you in the right direction.

Good Luck!

We also have rec'd $1000 matching grant from our local Walmart for the past 4 years. They have matched our auction. They have also matched the elementary & middle school talent shows. We are a K-12 PTO so the individual schools can get matches too.

Although in 2004, year we had a problem. We submitted our paperwork too late (October) and did not get the $1000 match. We were told that Walmart had no more money to give.

So, make sure you submit everything EARLY in the year.

One more thing, I believe Walmart will only match one time per year for each organization.

For those of you that have applied to Wal-Mart can you tell me what's been involved in this process. What types of activities do they match and what is the process for applying for the match? Thanks.

We applied for the Target grant. Our criteria matched theirs to the tee. I was really miffed when they responded with a no saying our criteria didn't match. We might consider trying again.
