We are in your situation, hopefully this fall we will be getting our much needed mulch that we have been saving 3 years for.

Back in January we had a change drive which we called "Change to Mulch For Safety". We ran it for 4 weeks. Due to flu and snow days it ran into to February and I figured that would doom it. We raised around $1200.00. The note I sent home and what I told the students was not to break their piggy banks, just to pick up any loose change they saw that DIDN'T belong to anyone.

We had 3 out of 22 rooms to raise over $100.00 one room (the students not the teacher) decided not to participate because they would not benefit from the mulch since they were going to another school. The teacher seemed embarrassed but I told her that was their right. They missed out on the Popcorn, Pizza, and Cotton Candy parties though.

We use Kash for Kids for our ink cartridges. This is very successful, our computer lab uses this money. We probably average around $100.00 per month. That is just a guess. Several families send in, and have other families saving them too. Not alot of people around here have computers so I deem it very successful. I would like to cell phones through Funding Factory, but since I no longer have a title I don't think I have much of a voice either.

Hi, can't help you with the penny drive, but we have used fundingfactory.com for 2years now. They recycle ink cartridges and cell phones. We have earned 2000$ with the program. (and that's pretty much just with our school families). They make everything very easy, shipping is free... etc. maggie

We are in desperate need of a new playground. We are trying to find new ways to raise funds on top of our usual fundraisers. One way we are considering is to do a penny drive (we will also accept nickles, dimes and quarters) called pennies for the playground. We will have girls against boys with the winning team receiving an icecream party (along with bragging rights). The other way is to recycle printer cartriges. I'm wonder if anyone else out there has done these and how well they did. I'm also wondering what company for the cartridges is the best. I saw them listed in pto yellow pages but it's hard to tell which one to go with.
