Can you sell bagels in the morning to the other students? We do this at our school (in our case our kids are grades 1-3 and we do them at snack time once a month) we only have 300 kids and make about $200 each time we do it. We have them preordered so we now ahead of time how many we need of each butter, cream cheese, or plain. We get the bagels for $0.25 each and we butter or cream cheese them ourselves before school starts. We charge $1 a bagel. Is it something you could offer every Friday for the next month/month and a half? With 800 kids you could make a lot more then we do with 300 kids! Plus $1 is so affordable for people to participate in! Plus our teachers and staff also order them.

Or what about a penny war...that was something Tim put up here some time ago. Each homeroom would get a container. Every penny is worth 1 point and silver coins or bills are a deduction worth their value (a quarter would be -25 points,
a dollar would be -100, a dime would be -10 etc.} Everyone wants to fill their containers with as many pennies as possible. People use silver coins and dollar bills to bomb the containers of other classrooms. At the end the class with the most points wins something...typically a pizza party. If you could come up with a prize that these older kids might want it could be very profitable. You could run it for a couple of weeks. I think the trick here would be coming up with something that these kids would want enough to fill these containers and bomb other classes containers.

Thanks for your reply, the school has told us that we cannot sell food of any kind because it takes profit away from the school. I like that idea though. The Penny War is already done by the student government, therefore we are not aloud to do the same. These are the kind of things that we are looking for, though. Thanks You again and, as always, if you have anymore ideas please pass them along.

You can have the students put their baby picture on a heart shaped ornament with a Valentine greeting and sell this to their parents, grandparents, etc. They can make around $4.00 for every heart ornament they sell plus it is also a keepsake and can be used as a Christmas ornament.

Go to www.aplusmemories.com for more info.

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply, I will take it into consideration. If you come up with anything else please let me know. Thanks.

When I was in high school our FBLA had a matchmaking fundraiser. They had everyone fill out personality questionares during homeroom and then the next week you could purchase a printout of your compatability list for $5-I think. We had a school of 400 and they sold to more than half. They also did a fundraiser where you could send a heart shaped sucker to someone and it was delivered during homeroom for $1. This went over very well because $1 is afforable and at the least people were sending them to themselves! Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. The school disscourages relationships of any kind. It seems these days that they incourage Rivalry rather than Relationships. The sucker idea is a good one, but another club at the school is already doing that. If you have any other ideas, it would be appriciated. Thanks again.

How many kids are in your school and what grades would be involved? Also how quickly do you need to raise the money?

There is roughly 800 and it is grades 9-12. I will need to get the money by the end of Feb. March, latest.
