I totally agree with you on the prices. I thought they were outrageous. We were actually pleasantly surprised by the amount of sales our kids actually did. I guess people just liked helping out no matter what the cost. We haven't heard back about the whole thing yet.
Schwann's has WONDERFUL products, but I thought that their prices were ridiculously high for the fundraising. I know that all fundraisers have overpriced items, but I just can't see our parents paying upwards of $10 for a box of ice cream bars. tj6993, did any of your parents fuss about the prices? I DO like the idea of the company doing the delivery, especially since it is frozen foods. I know our Market Day chairperson sometimes has parents not pick up their products, and we have to store them in a freezer until they come get them.
If you think you have never had their products, their desserts are made by Edwards and their pizzas are the same at Tony's. If you look on the back of the Tony's pizza box, you will see the Schwann's swan logo.
I believe it was 30%. We actually did better then we thought we would with it. Usually pre-paids just dont go as well. But we thought it was worth a try, nothing to lose. We had a great amount of students who sold well over $400.00 worth of items. One thing about the Schwann fundraiser was it was also available to anyone online, so out of state relatives could also participate.
Our fundraiser chairperson's husband manages a Schwann Depot, so thats how we heard about it. They had great prizes too, Tv's, DVD players. I also know the drivers were not to try to sell to any of the people they delivered to but to just ask if they would like to see them return or if they would like a catalog. No pressure tactics. We haven't heard from the parents yet because this fundraiser ended 1 month before school got out. I do know everyone was delivered to and they received their products within 1-6 weeks depending on when their delivery date was scheduled and arranged.
