We did a HI sale last year and made $3000 in a school of 350 kids. The only concern I had was there was a recall of one of the candles we sold (the tin) and it was up to ME to get the info out to all of our parents over the summer! What a pain! The rep was great and provided stamps, copies of the letter and envelopes, but I stuffed all 300+ letters. We had to send the letter to all students at the school because the rep did not have copies of our order forms (there is only one page and that is sent back to the seller so they know who bought from them). We had one tin we sold that caught fire and burned a nice big hole in one of our parents countertops BEFORE we were notified!!!!! I am not sure if we will work with them again.

We sell Yankee Candles, with only 210 students in a 50% low income area and made $3900. I gave the students a 5 candle goal for their sales which gave them some incentive. You can get info through GBI Marketing, it is very easy and the orders are separated by student and classroom when they are delivered.

No, I am not a rep of any kind. I just wanted to let the person know that most companies offer samples and familiar names sell better at our school. Just to clear things up.

Want to know something funny???? I am a HI rep!! LOL No kidding - but kinda have backed off from the biz and haven't done a fundraiser since they came out with the kit. No conflict of interest though...I'm not pushing the candles and I will check out that other company too. This is why I come to this msg board now so I can get everyone's opinion. I appreciate it. I just may be fundraiser chairperson again next school year if I know I have you all to bounce things off of!!! Renee
