I have and will always have a problem with parents running to principal because "Jane,Suzzy's mom was saying something not true about me"....OMG...we are adults, deal with one another. I want my principal focused on the children!
Having a parent run to the principal because another parent said something or did something is no different than that tattletale child. I don't like that either! Learn some conflict resolution other than running to someone else to fix.
I'm thinking that was what about the kids was talking about. She even talked to the principal, got her info from the principal, that did not stop the problem parent. The problem needs to be stopped. I say there is a dark alley I know......
<wassup> as I read "it is about the kids" post. I took from it that the parent was upset because the committee was "notified" that no pictures were to be taken of the child. Not that release forms were shown to the committee. Maybe I misunderstood. I thought from the post that the parent wanted no pictures to be included in the yearbook and her privacy on that matter respected. If you respect her privacy then you can't let the picture takers know not to take pictures. Did I interpret this correctly? I have gone and confused myself again. If so I apologize to all I have confused along with myself.

here is how our school handled it.
we had a dozen or more parents at who didnt want thier kids in the yearbook...the principal gave the volunteer picture takers a list of the kids that should not be in the yearbook but did not pass out the signed forms.
problems come up all the time in our school as in all schools from what it sounds like all over these boards. difficult parents may move out, but difficult parents may also move in.
there is no such thing as a large school with no issues. or small school with no issues.
fortunately our management is very receptive, and handles all such issues which involve school/parents.
whether its at the principal, super, or BOE level, doesnt matter, someone does eventually handle it but only when the matter comes to there attention.
when volunteers have issues but dont bring them to the attention of the staff, then it usaully does not get resolved, becuase volunteers are just that! volunteers and not staff. probelms among parents should be handled by staff not by parents. from an experienced parent.
