Hey, we have them at our Walgreen's too. Five dollars more than what they cost at the school. A while back you could get them in JCPenney's catalog department. I don't know if they still the Entertainment Books though.

We did at our school for the past two years. It did okay last year but not this one. Some of the kids just didn't bring them back. I think the school may have had to pay for them but I'm not sure. The teacher really, really tried to get them back but to no avail. I liked them though but I was in the minority.

Not sure if this is the norm, but we were allowed to "lose" as many Kidstuff books as we sent home. They did not penalize us on cost. Of course we sent reminders home (and received quite a few checks and returns) and made a few phone calls home (and received some more checks & books) and ended up "losing" about 40 books out of 400.

In our area, the kids take pre-orders. They have sample books at events, but most people around here are pretty familiar with the Entertainment books.

One of our high school groups sells them and I've seen the kids going door to door in our neighborhood. Sometimes the student will carry a sample with them to show.

On the Entertainment books - have you noticed how they are becoming so available commercially. We have them on sale at all Walgreens now and I've seen them other stores. It was really tempting to pick one up that way as my normall "supplier" changed schools. But I kept asking around and found another group selling them. I'd much rather support a student group, but it took me an extra month to find one this year.

Thanks for the info! Part of the problem too is just the work involved in getting all of the books back! It is certainly no easy task. I am glad to hear others have done well without having to send the books home.

We don't send our Entertainment Books home. Just a flyer stating that they are available for purchase from so and so or can be purchased directly through the internet with our school's 'code'. We also have them available to sell at every PTA meeting, Back to School and possibly at Election Day (our school is a balloting place). From what I understand from the chairperson of that Committee, we order a specific amount and whatever is not sold has to be returned by a certain date. But I can be wrong on this.
