You can serve the typical hot dogs, nachos, chips, popcorn, pop...We have served sloppy joes and they were a hit. Sub-sandwiches might be good (and you could possibly get these donated!) Pizza by the slice.

What types of food and drinks would you suggest selling for this event? What has gone over very well?

Concessions!!! Sell food/drink. (don't forget to mention it on your flyer, so people don't eat dinner before they come to the dance).

Cake Walk - Get donated cakes and have a cake walk.

Raffle - get donated prizes and have a raffle.

Games..

Pictures with big 'Fros?? Have someone artistic paint 80's scenes on large pieces of plywood/cardboard and cut out holes so people can put their heads thru. Take polaroids and charge 'em $1 - $2 per pic.

I am thinking about chairing a dance theme night. I want to do a 1980's "retro" theme (my era). I do not want to charge admission as this would be a family night. However I would want to break even. Any ideas of how to raise money other than admission? I am an elementary school.
