How many is too many?

i'm just south of Atlanta. The best price we could find from here to the Alabama border was based on amount. For our first order of 100 ish shirts it was about 5.23. The shirt was Gilden (sp) and has one 1 color. We charged 12.00 which was based on the first place that we found and thought we were going to have to use. Our first place was going to charge 9.00 for the shirts and we thought 3.00 profit would be great since it is more of a community builder than anything else for use. then that person fell through and we found the 5.23 person and the prices already set and orders rolling in so we left it at that.

Good luck!

I think the company that we used her in SoCal was $3 something to print- we sold for $10- after first 70 shirts they original order cost was covered- then it was profit till reorder.

Older tshirts sold for $5- but it was a different company

I'd say $3-5 for printing would be avg then $8-10 for selling price at least bring a decent profit

That's kinda what I thought. Our school currently has shirts from last year that they sell for $5, which is a bargain as far as I'm concerned, but I'm new at this and not sure if there's any profit built into that.

Can anyone share what a screen printed T-shirt wholesale cost should be? When we get new shirts printed next year, I'd love to have a baseline of what to expect. TIA

Maybe they have rolled over funds from previous year? After paying for initial cost of T Shirts the PTO should turn a profit- unless they're getting 'em for free - I dont see how its a pure profit

Sorry to drag this up, and C.Adams probably isn't even around anymore, but maybe someone else can answer how to get spirit t-shirts to be pure profit as previously referenced?

I have been reading all of your posts and you have given me some great ideas I didn't know about. Let me say I am the spirit wear cordinator for our school that involves selling shirts, sweatshirts, etc., hairbows. You name we sell it. Car magnets anything to get the kids in the spirit and enjoy school. Friday is spirit day and every Friday the whole staff and all children must dress up in their school colors. It takes some time to catch on but believe me it will and the kids love it. We award a yearly or bi-yearly prize to the class with the most school spirit. Of course now when you come into the school on Friday you must wear your school colors. Another thing you can do is in the spring have a contest let the kids come up with a design (two colors) and have it printed up on a white shirt (or light color depending on your colors). If you shop around you can find a good deal on shirts. The possibilites are endless, you can do sports bottles, keychains, beanie babies, things the kids can use and enjoy. Plus alot of these things you can order one of (or you can get the company to send you a FREE sample)and have the parents order them, that way it isn't much money up front for your organization.
