Help, Need fundraising with no up front money

I know I just posted, but I have seen Pizza Hut does a fundraiser night. All you have to do is set a date, hand out coupons, and wait for the funds to roll in. They will send you a check for a percentage of sales for that night. The coupon has to be attached.

Also, Netflix has a fundraiser. If you go to there website, I believe they explain it better. For every membership that identifies you as their resource, they will send you a certain amount of money.

As soon as I think of the third, no work fundraiser, I will let you know. I just can't come up with it now.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but our PTO has little funds to start with now as well. A quick turn around easy selling product we found was a discount card. If you want more information feel free to contact me personally. Tracy

Box Tops is a must. LOL! Are small schools get over $1,000 per year on avg. It is amazing how quickly they add up. The only thing there is paying the postage which is generally not too bad. Just make sure they are trimmed down as much as possible to save on the postage.

One thing we start out the year with is "Spirit Sales." This year I only did shirts, sweats, jackets, and hats. We take orders and have the money sent with the orders. The company charges us after we recieve our products. Same thing with most selling fundraisers I suppose. We are kicking off our Avon sales on 11-11. The rep is coming to get the money and count it herself on the deadline. We had a successful change drive my 2nd year at the elementary. We raised $1200.00. You could also set up a Holiday Bazaar or something to affect. There is no money needed if you have the room already (meaning you do not have to rent a place). Vendors set up and pay you. Some people charge a flat rate per space and some people ask for a small percentage of what the vendor makes. If you have an event that you can have concessions you can often get those items donated.

Hi Michelle,

I too am a new PTO president and was looking for a fundraiser that was easy with little, to no, out of pocket expense. A friend of mine from another PTO, made a suggestion that was the right choice for our school as it had been for them. We had a walk-a-thon! It was quite easy to set up and we needed no money to start out. But the best part of all was that we had all of our money on the day of the walk-a-thon! ($4000) We did better than the catalog fundraiser from the year before, and although some parents were hesitant at first, all were excited by the end of it. The children LOVED it because we played music and gave them each a healthy snack. If you would like specific details & the forms I used please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I can't believe more people don't do this!

My hubby and I help schools get started selling beef jerky. The intial cost is only 12.00. You then get kids to take orders and turn in money and then you order it direct from the company at a wholesale cost. The company ships free and you have a handout day. Some schools buy a case to have around and sale it at football games and such. The other way your PTO would make money is to sign parents up to be monthly jerky customes for 12.00 and you get a commission (residual) monthly income.

One idea is to go to www.fundraising.com and order donation scratch cards. Basically, this works that each student takes home a scratch card - each card provides $90.00 profit and costs $10.00 each. Most companies will bill you so you do not need any upfront costs. Have the students ask their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, etc. to scratch off a circle. Then the amount that is uncovered is the amount the person donates to the school. The donee is then given by the student a sheet of discount coupons - one is a free 8x10 at JCPenny with no sitting fee! We made quite a bit on this when we only used a few cards during a McDonalds night, so if you have each student bring back one card uncovered with donations, you should bring in big dollars!

This has no product involved and the kids will love seeing people scratch off their circles! I hope you do well! It is hard starting off fresh. I did it a few years ago with our Booster Club. Good luck!
