Help, Need fundraising with no up front money

18 years 9 months ago #80833 by ScottMom#1
Our big fundraiser is a fall catalog sale. It's not too late to get one put together with most companies. We actually do two catalog sales, 2 skating parties at the local rink, and a Chuck E Cheese night to raise our funds. We do a family reading night at no cost and a carnival that just breaks even as well as Grandparents, Moms and Dads breakfasts, treats for field day and several other events at no cost. If you remember what the PTO did when your daughter was in K, that might give you some ideas for raising funds.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Well, as far as projecting a budget we really don't know how much we need, we guess around $4-5,000, as of now we have a family movie night planned(but this is going to be free), a book fair, Ice cream social during the book fair for a family night (also free)and we usually rent inflatable fun equiptment for our field day. The first year we were there (my daughter was in K, now she is in 5th)They had a fall carnival but that years president ws a 5th grade mom and we have had pretty much nothing since. I have a son in 3rd so we'll still be there a few more years. we have alot we want to do but need the funds. thanks for your reply, does this help?

Well, you are ambitious, Michelle! How much of a budget does your school PTOO have, or if you are the PTO, what events do you hope to plan, and what do you hope to raise??

Knowing these basics will help us help you!

This is my first year as president. In past years we have had an almost nonexistant board, My husband and I took over this year and are starting with BARE minimum. Can anyone help us?
Michelle
