I'm in the NY area and the list that I got from ademom74 was very helpful. I would love to see a list of the various companies that would say either yes or no or even if you can go to their local store to get a donation, ie Starbucks each local store will donate..you don't have to go thru corporate for them. In our area we have 4 Starbucks so now I have 4 1pound bags of coffee sitting in my basement!! I'm trying to contact Home Depot now to see if I have to go thru corporate or our local store.
Ours works pretty good but (un)fortunately you can neever have enough. Mines on an excel spreadsheet.

(Yes it is easy, but if someone has the address already, why wouldnt you share it too make someone elses job easier)

hey tim, since I've been on the board forever (well at least 4yrs) I can tell ya that the lists do work very well, especially if you can fax the company. I would be happy to share my list as well since I have gotten many ideas from this board. maggie
Maybe we can start a new thread on companies that do or do not donate. I would just list the name of the company then a yes or no. If people want to send out a letter to that company they can look up the address. It's not real hard to find donation contact info through the internet. My list of letters, faxes and email requests already in the mail is well over 100. I would be willing to post yes or no as they come in.
I think that its a great idea for all of us to share the information. But I also think that if all the same companies get inundated with letters for donations they are just going to stop donating at some point or be very selective in who and what they are donating to.
I think having one thread though just for auciton info would be helpful considering so many schools do this. The having it sent to "me too" is getting a little crazy I agree.
