Dear Yellek-
I am new to PTO Today and "message boards", but would like any information you have that could help me help our yearly PTO carnival and auctions. Sincerely, Lisa McCart. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Me, too </font>
rofl, thanks for the laugh guys. I think the problem with the "me too" posts is that the orignial person who posted that they had a list may not actually go back and follow the thread so it just keeps going. It would be easier if the list people perhaps posted something like, "I have a list, if you want it email me". maggie

Well I know we just finished out auction and it did well. Yeah!! I took from these list and I sent out my fair share of "me too" emails to help others. I did find that some companies only donate to certain states, schools, reason for raising money & some just need time. We sent out to our parents a survey asking how they liked items this year, many response to wow they are out of town gas is high, want more then one of that item, sizes are tiny, sizes where to big, they want more local but the problem is more local is hit hard with other area schools. So next year I will keep resending till I get the letter that tells me why they would not like to donate. My only thought to help all the "me toos" is if you do post on here with people willing to donate then just post it don't say I have a list. I think that is when this jumble starts.

We used "the list" for the first time this year. Out of 70 plus letters sent we only received about 20 responses. BUT, one of those made $700 on our prize walk. Well worth the time and stamps. Someone else said it's about timing. I agree. It's luck if your letter just happens to arrive when they still have something to give for the month or year. We only sent to large national companies. But, also sent to local companies that we knew donated in the past to save gas money. Most companies have a public relations department whose job is to handle these requests. I would definitely shy away from small places unless they were very local. I don't know what the solution would be about the list. But, we found one on here, printed it out and started addressing envelopes. We will send them all out again next year and hopefully get more responses. Only this time the addresses will be on my computer where I can hit print and they'll be on labels already! :D

I wish, Shawn. :)

I'm actually not sure what to do on this one. I know that auctions are a burning-hot topic. And I know that this particular list is high-demand.

And I really, really know that the "email me, toos" drive me a bit bananas.

But I'm concerned about all the downsides mentioned above. And I don't have a great technical solution in mind for keeping the list updated. So..... I ponder.
