Box Top University

I am planning to go to the Chicago BT University. It is about 2 1/2 hours from us. Our school (K-5 less than 300 students) brought in $604 in BTs last year. I set our goal at $725 this year and we have already met it with 1/3 of the school year left. If nothing else I hope to share my story of how a little work goes a long way.

I have sent 3 different collection sheets home and have had great success. You don't have to be a BT Coordinator to get the sheets, just click on Activities. Print a couple out and bring them to your next PTO/A meeting if your school is not already using them.

There's some information in the website if you're a coodinator. There's usually an ad in the PTO Today magazine too.

I'm about 2 1/2 hours away from Atlanta and just wondered if it's going to benefit our group for me to go. If I can get a good arguement for going maybe I can get the group to pay for some gas. Otherwise, if I just go (regardless of gas money or not) is it worth not working that day? (i think the Atlanta session is on a Thursday)

You have to be signed up as the coordinator to get the info and be able to go. I've signed up each of the last few years and never made it. Usually because they are more than 8 hours drive from my home and I'm not sure whatever benefits offered would suprass even my fuel expenses. I have honestly never felt more isolated than by not being able to get any parent group support events closer than 9 hours (which is too far) away from my home. Our group and my family just don't have funds to go to either coast.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

I've never gone, but would certainly like to. From what I've read on the Box Tops website, the Box Tops University is a time for everyone to get together and discuss more effective ways of collecting Box Tops and there are giveaways and food. It sounds like fun.

Has anyone ever went? I've signed up for the first time. What happens there?
