Our school did a walk-a-thon last year and it was fun. Our school is k-6th so what we did was break them down into 30 minute sections. We marked off a big course on the outer edges of the blacktop/playground. The principal played music and talked them all the way through. We were still able to have breaks and lunches and the kids only missed 30 minutes of class time. We broke it into two or three classrooms at a time and had the teachers and helpers at different places around the course and they marked the kid's charts everytime they came around. It was fun for all around.
