New Message Boards Brainstorm

This is my alltime favorite message board. It works better than any other I have ever been on. The only thing I still long for is PM ability, or some other reasonable way to email other users.

I'm trying to recall some. I hate being one of those people who point out a 'problem' without providing a 'solution'. And I'm not exactly saying it's a problem either, just an observation. If I come across a link that might provide another example, I'll post it.

Have you seen boards that you like that do that differently? Link?

First - thanks for the great free access areas. I wouldn't even mind more ads if it meant keeping the free stuff.

I think a "Back to Top" button at the bottom of the screen would be helpful - especially for those of us too lazy to scroll all the way back up through long threads.

I really like the uncluttered look of the Message Boards Home page but some threads get bumped from the Last Post spot and don't always get the attention they deserve.

One board I used to visit gave you the ability to send and receive emails from other members through their site so you didn't have to post your email address. Another option would be a chat room. Just easy ways to ask questions and work out details without creating 10 pages of conversation.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

I don't have much to say except that I do like the Quick Reply boxes. It's much quicker and easier than going to the full reply option.
