my vote would be for the spell check! Great with the keyboard - lousy with the spelling! ;)

i don't know if this is in line with what you are thinking of but there seems to be a lot of recurring themes on here.....like back to school poems, dlf's slogans, etc. maybe a place on the bonus tools section with some of these would be helpful. For example, you could do d's slogans and just list all she has done for each mascot or school. Just a thought.
Also a word spelling and grammer check thing would be helpful for those keyboard challenged people like me!

Yeah, there are tons of bells & whistles available for these kinds of boards, but I've never been all that convinced that they're better than this pretty basic format.

I'm interested in hearing more about the PM (private message) or email poster type feature. Why is that so attractive? My fear with that is that it will potentially create two issues: 1) some great sharing will not be done on the boards (where it can help more people); and 2) I'm always leery of the boards getting too personal and clubbish, which can make it harder for new posters and sometime posters to feel welcome. Kind of the same reason why I'm not a big fan of the detailed profiles or photos with profiles or favorite quotes kind of stuff.

Interested in more feedback.

Wow, the brainstorming session is already working. I've never even noticed the Today's Active Topics button. I think that solves my 'problem'. Thanks ScottMom

I also love the "today's active topics" button. This way I don't have to look for what's been posted. Some topics are just really busy and it's hard to keep track.
Tim, there are very few message boards I stay active with and the ones I love always seem to shut down after awhile. This one has definately been one of the best and I like the bright colors. My eyes have so much trouble going to all the dark backgrounds other sites use.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Love the search and have liked the "new post" thing but doesn't seem to be working lately. Like the cute little "I've posted how many" and the number of posts cause it lets me know if someone is serious.
