Websites You Love

When I pop in, thru my Favorites list of course, I go straight to Today's Active Topics in the discussion forum. I'll scroll thru the Blog, too.

I'd like to see the Useful Resources section expanded. I know there are technical issues involved in adding files from us folk (ex. virus concerns), but it would be nice to be able to share more tools electronically by way of this site.

Our school district's website's home page features a photo shot somewhere in the district. The photo is changed daily so each day there's some new student or new event highlighted. With digital photography, how about having "us" submit photos for the website. Maybe it would become unmanageable, but it's a way to visually connect with another PTO/PTA in between issues of the magazine.

I don't spend any time surfing other similar sites, so my frame of reference is limited. I'd be here even if it was in black and white with no graphics. The content is what draws me. Now, can you do something about that Tom Hanks look a like on the banner!

Besides ptotoday.com (of course!), I'd love to hear/see other websites you really love, especially if they are websites in any way similar to ours (not parent group related per se, but similar in terms of the type of stuff they do -- articles, community, programs, products...).

Appreciate any links and maybe a word or two about why you like.

While you're at it, feel free to talk about what you like or don't about this website. Things you'd like to see added?

Mainly, I'm talking about look-and-feel and how easy it is to find what you're looking for, etc. -- but all feedback is welcome. If you're a regular, maybe try to think back to when you were new to the site, any frustrations you may have had, etc.

If you can't tell, we're moving down the path toward a redesign. Always a big project.

I'll try and keep everyone in the loop on timing and perhaps new features that we're putting in place.
