I have alot. I spend way to much time on this computer! Some of them I can't really remember what they are because I've been too busy to visit them lately.

www.familyeducation.com
www.infoplease.com -helps us with homework and gives alot of current info to talk about.
www.educationworld.com- I've used this one alot for PTO and teaching ESS and Character Counts. Also helping my kids out with homework.
www.boxtops.com
www.famlit.org
www.atozstuff.com -it is packed with several helpful websites.
www.robertrules.com- I like the discussion board.
www.kidsdomain.com
www.momoverboard.com- it also has a discussion board.
www.pastor2youth.com-has lots of game ideas
www.pbs.org- for games and activities

My favorite search engine is www.dogpile.com. It uses several different engines and organizes the info for you.

I like Fatwallet.com for freebies for my events at school.

It's not exactly what I DON'T like it's more what's missing . . .

Swap bulletin board. Where can I unload my carnival decorations I've used for two years and want to change the theme? Where can I purchase a used cash register for my group?

See where I'm going with this?

Thanks!

There are probably 6 or 7 other sites where I check out message boards on a fairly regular basis, but this one is, by far, the best. I've found most others have just *way* too many features--you get to pick your own avatar, thousands of smilies, a fancy signature, etc. It's really kind of annoying (to me) to have to scroll through all that crap. I really like that this one is so clean and easy to follow.

One thing that I have seen that is very helpful is on www.disboards.com. On there, when you float your mouse over the topic of the header message, it will show you the first couple of lines of the message so you can see what it is about without opening it. It's sort of like what "Today's Active Topics" on this board says, but you can see it in the list of messages. (Hope this makes sense!) It's nice to have something like that when you have a huge volume of messages, with title lines that are less than helpful.

I also like the PM (private message) function that a lot of boards have. I really miss the easy "click and email" functionality we used to have on here. Losing that hasn't prevented me from emailing people or telling them to email me; I'm always happy to share. But it has contributed to cluttering the boards with lots of "can you send me that too?" emails.

It seems like the "useful resources" and "FAQ" sections of this site often get overlooked by newcomers. I'm not sure why, but it would be nice if those two sections were made more prominent somehow.

I've tried the search feature here (just on the forums) a couple of times and found it to be a little quirky, but I don't know of a site that does it better.

Besides the forum, I **LOVE** the blog--like having my own personal clipping service. I can't tell you how many times I've forwarded articles to my peers.

Wow, thanks Melloweer, that's a great site. I also linked from there to www.everythingelementary.com , another good supplies/spirit item site.
I could spend hours, no days, jumping from site to site. LOL

I LOVEEEEEEEE www.schoolcarnivals.com (with the s on the end). It tells you to the tee how to plan the behind the scene basics to a carnival. Even math equations to figure out how to figure out how many prizes to purchase, tons of game ideas...help with everything!

The first year I planned the carnival...that website saved my hindend I'm sure!

I agree with Old Timer and would like to see the resources expanded.
I like to visit crayola.com and I usually link to any sites posted here on the boards just to see what they are about. I have found very useful info.
Although our group is a PTA, I RARELY visit that sight, way too boring compared to this one. I especially like the OTHER, SOCIAL category here.
I found this site very easy to navigate when I first came here, so I don't know what to offer for suggestions on that.
I guess the only thing I might like to see is a live discussion, a chat, only for registered users. Perhaps set up only on specific days and times. Maybe specific topic oriented?
I LOVE THIS SITE and visit daily, sometimes two or three times, as my schedule allows. You have done an awesome job Tim!
