It has certainly been an interesting year! It started off badly (I tried to resign at least 3 times ) But fortunantly, things worked out and it has been a good year. Several people have asked if I would do it again, I told them that I would be willing to do it as long as they couldn't find anyone else. I really don't want to run against anyone, I'd rather hand over the books, say if you need help please feel free to call me and just chair some committees or something. It's funny because sometimes I think it would be nice to have a smooth year, but.... (I still have 4 more yrs to go in elementary school) Should be an interesting spring.

Can you believe with a new baby on the way and having 3 kids under the age of four to tote around I'm still waffering. I know President is and will be too much but with only five active parents out of 1000 members, I'm really nervous.
The issue being the only parent that has an intrest is the one that nearly destroyed our school a year ago! We have been butting heads all year because of our differencs...too many to air here....plus she made the comment to me that I really need to stay home and be a mommy. OUCH!
I know in my heart my kids come first, and they always have, but to have that said to me! OUCH!

Anyway, I do know I want to stay chair of two committees I really have enjoyed chairing the last three years but it will be a long year if she is re-elected.

I myself will not be seeking another term. I feel very comfortable with the choice that I have made. PTO will survive without me it always has and always. As VP once and President for 2 years I must say that I want to step down and be a normal parent that can just walk in and walk out but still be involved with other committees or activites within the school. And I will still have another opportunity to serve I still have children that need to go through that elementary.

I was looking for that post several of us contributed to a few months ago talking about how it feels to be a committed president nearing the end of his/her term and moving on. Several of us felt the same way - mixed feelings about letting go of something so consuming, but yet curious and hopeful about moving onwards.

Anyway, how's everyone feeling now? Did anyone change their mind and agree to another term? Personally, I'm really content. I've given it my all as President for 2 years and as a chairperson before that. I was having some twinges about letting go when we first talked about this last Fall. Now, while I may not be counting down the days, I'm very comfortable with the idea.

We are in the middle of the nomination process and have few viable choices. But it will work out, it always does. It may not be the way I would do things, but the PTO will continue.

I'd like to hear from any of you in the same boat.
