Nazi Principal

Is this a military school?

If the kids get to loud in our lunchroom the no talking rule is enforced. I hate that, but at least your kids can whisper. Walking down the hall the kids aren't supposed to touch the walls. There are no serious reprecusions if this doesn't happen. They are just told to put their hands to their sides.

What if a family can't afford any sky blue uniforms are lucky to have navy blue? Is that took into consideration? We do have a dress code, but if a child is wearing something that breaks it they can go to our family resource center clothes closet. Except at the middle school and high school, the Youth Service Center is called and they bring over clothes from their closet.

How many kids are sent home because of accidents? Most of the teachers at our school let the kids go to the bathroom before and after lunch.

Any advice on how to stop this emotional abuse?

Perhaps a hemorrhoid cushion and some salve. (kidding) Is this person new to your school? Were there any issues that led to his heavy handedness? Perhaps if his gripe is noise in the cafeteria, the PTO can put up sound panels. If the concern is marks on the hallway walls in high traffic areas, perhaps PTO can pitch in for some high quality paint. But I have a feeling that even if you resolved these issues, others would arise. Good luck.

Boy do I know how you feel. We have a new principal this year and it has felt like we live in He**! He has restricted our amount of fundraising and teachers now get to vote on what is needed by the school and not voted by board members. We basically have no board members. They have pretty much phased out due to our new principal and many have told me they won't be returning.

I wish I had some good comforting words for you. Unfortunately I am going through the same thing. I have been told in the past that things really will get better just in time. I am hoping that will happen for you and for me.

Situation: Principal has a hush rule; kids have to whisper during lunch in the lunch room. Kids can't stand within 1 foot of the walls in the hallway. Restricted bathroom access during lunch and recess. Dress code included "Blue"; but principal sends kids home for having navy blue instead of sky blue.

Don't know if I'm angry or sad. Elementary school should be a positive experience: one where kids learn to love learning. Instead, it looks more like a prison camp.

Parents are upset; but won't complain for fear of retaliation against their kids.

Anyone else have experience with this sort of situation? Any advice on how to stop this emotional abuse?
