I forgot something I left out - my daughter is in the 5th grade and will be going to middle school next year, but I know if I don't get this straigten out it will probably follow her and me to the next school.

What do you guys thing about me emailing everyone on the board a link to this website with reference to my Messages on the Message Board so they all can read it for themselves and hear my side of the story? Also, email it to the President and Vice President. Did I mention that I went to the Vice President as well and nothing was done.

In response to dlf reply - I appreciate you sharing your opinions. I have kept this a secret and chose not to disclose the information.
I had no choice but to let the President know and the other 1st Vice. The medication that I had been on (Depakote) for 3 years worked great, but I had to periodic liver profile test done and it showed that my liver enzymes were elevated so I had to come off of the medication plus for some reason I tend to get tolerant of the medication after taking it for a while and it begins not to work efficiently. So my doctor tried me on a new medication - the next day I had a meeting with the Pres. and my Fundraising partner. They noticed a big change in my speech, I couldn't help it; I wasn't used to the medicine yet and they wanted to know what was wrong with me - they thought I was DRUNK, so I had to tell them what was really going on. The President was the one that spread it around. I don't know if you guys much about the disease but when you have to change medications, you just have to try the medicine and if doesn't work for you then you go to another. It is tough when you are trying to find the right combination of meds that work for you and sometimes it takes a while. I finally found another medicine that controls my disease process but it takes a while to get that in your system, and I had to slowly decrease the Depakote while increasing the new med Topamax. It ended up that the Topamax did not help at all and I ended up with some memory problems such as repeating myself and such. I realized I had this problem so when it came to getting the donations I kept every record, every receipt, make a spreadsheet with everyone that donated including Name, Number, Donation, Value of donation, and whether they recevied the receipt. I made sure to be extra careful and wrote everything down. They were all singing my praises when they knew I received so many donations. The one thing I should have done and didn't was to have the person that wanted to steal everything sign off on my donations that I turned in, but I had no idea that she was going to do this until after all donations were turned in. She also refused to let me help her put the baskets together. As soon as I let the Presient know about this lady wanting to take some of the certificates, she completely took her side. Then there was nothing I could do but go to the Principal and that didn't get me anywhere. Since all this I have changed meds and it is working great, but I can assure you that when that lady made that offer and tried to bride me into taking some donations so she could have the golf certicates, that was one thing that I would never forget. As far as the other gift certificates missing, the President called me a few day later and stated that the lady that had put the baskets together found the other missing donations except one. That is the way they got away with it. When I wouldn't let them blame it on me for losing the certificates - then they chose the route of just saying they had gotten lost and according to them they wasn't blaming anyone. They just wanted it kept quite- and I do believe that the new Treasurer who is my neighbor and I thought my friend probably wanted me off the board for some reason or another. If she was a true friend and did her job as treasurer she would have helped me and did some sort of audit before the auction, I had given her a copy of all my receipts and my spreadsheet as well as the President. I am just sick over this and to tell you the truth I want to storm in there and pitch a fit but I know that is not the correct way to handle it.

Sounds like you were doing a great job and someone wanted to, and then found a way to, sideline you out of the group or your work. Sounds like plain old relational aggression on their part, and the personal stuff divulged was simply a convienent yet wholly unjustified catalyst/excuse.Probably not a group of people you want to work with anyway is it.Serendipity makes some good points above.

Okay--I have to say it (I've been thinking about this since your first post)...it is also important since you have yourself in a good place, to not release information that you don't want to be part of the picture as folks discuss you. We all have aspects of our lives that we struggle with, and I'd just as soon keep that aspect of myself to myself and my family. I am not trying to be offensive here, but in the position you were serving in, I'm not sure why disclosing more (or perhaps the most) personal part of your life was necessary. I have a chairperson who has disclosed to me some very personal information and I understand it is because she may need to be reminded more often of the requirements of her position. And I stand ready to help. On the other hand, I have folks that tell me the most intimate details of their personal lives when I've known them 2.3 seconds. I don't repeat the information, but do wonder why they felt compelled to discuss it with me. I only give my confidential information to my confidants, of which there are very, very few (read 2). Perhaps there were reasons you were compelled to share your bi polar disorder with the President but from your execution of your duties I sure don't see any. You seemed to do things more right than I would have and for that she should have been grateful. However, I would have done the job first, and disclosed the bi polar status if the requirement ever became a part of my duties.

Forgive me if I've offended...not my intent...just wanted to point out the obvious issue that there are a lot of people out there that are small enough to capitalize on others pain...

As a paretn with family and children with Bipolar disease, I feel your pain.

I'd stick to your guns and helping out at school.

Then I'd contact whomever is in charge of this schools unprofessional knuckleheads and give them as much facts and documented information as possible ( thieves, pedophiles (thank god none of that) idiots who dont understand others illness/ disease --- piss (can I post that??) me off more than anything in this world)

Impropriety is a big sin to my family regardless of the consequences to my children (which would be none- if they knew me)

Superintendants or BOE maybe and a good lawyer, most will do an initial consult for free.
