Teacher on the Executive board?

It is my understanding from an IRS workshop our school district offered that teachers and principles could not be voting members; does this just pertain to funds that would go to their personal classrooms or to all votes?

This year we have a teacher as the Secretary but no one has really stepped up to fill the Teacher Rep spots we have open. Fustrating but we have had two-three teachers/staff join us lately.

Our principal sits on our exec board and assistant prinicipal is a presence as well. We all work very, very well together and I don't know if this would work for every group but it does for us...d

We have a teacher voluntering as treasurer. She is truly an asset to PTO. She is in direct contact with our superintentent, principal and teachers.

Only parents are eligible to serve on our board. A teacher can only serve on the board if they have a child in the school.

However, teachers are members of the PTO and can vote as members.

We also have 2 teacher reps (K-2 and 3-5) who regularly attend the meetings. The teacher reps rotate each year

We have two teachers on our Ex. Board. one is the bylaws chair and the other is our cultural arts chair. We also have four teacher reps.
