I'm not in Ohio, but if anyone is looking for a speaker for the NC/SC area, please visit my website for ideas.

We are actually having our school district's technology "guru" come speak to our parents about Internet Safety. He is certified as "iSafe" (check out their website) and is conducting this program for free. This is such an important issue. He covers topics like internet predators, myspace information, not just the bad, but how they can be used for good (most kids have these, not to mention businesses and others; yet, parents are for the most part clueless), internet bullying (major problem), etc.

We are planning on having an internet safety "camp" for our 4-6 grade students shortly after school begins, using the information we learn from our Tech guy.

I'm sure most school's these days would have someone who is certified to offer something like this, check into it :)

You might want to consider Larry Wirtz. He has an excellent program called "Follow the Leader". It is great for parents, students and teachers! His information can be found at Larry Wirtz - FunSchoolShows.com

We had Bruce Bray come. He is a magician that speaks about literature during his act and gets the kids into reading. If you let him know about the parents being there, I'm sure he can work in helpful hints for parents to get the kids reading. www.partypizazz.com

Otherwise, maybe an author that has written a book about parenting or siblings getting along would be able to be a guest speaker. But if you have the kids there, they would have to be experienced with the mixed audience; which many would not be.
