Well each organization varies in the way things are done according to their bylaws. You would have to check your bylaws to know the answers to your questions.

For us our answers would be:
*YES ~ You need to be at the meeting on election night to vote & anyone
who is a member of the PTO can vote.
*Anyone who has a child at our school can run for any office. You can only hold an office for two terms unless no one else is running for that seat.

I have a question about how some of your PTO elections are run. Do you have to be at a meeting to vote on new officers or do you allow anybody to vote?

What about who can run for the different offices. Can anybody run or are there things that they have to do first?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
