A slide show montage with pictures from recent school events (set to music) can also work. Kids love re-living the event through pictures and if you use music that they connect with it makes it even more engaging. Parents who may not have been able to attend the events will see how much fun the kids have had at these events and may consider volunteering to help the next time!

The other idea would be to create "time capsule" pieces that you can preview at your event and then store away until the children hit high school (or beyond!) Each child can be asked a question like "When I grow up I want to be..." Or "The best thing about being a student at ABC school is..." This format also enables all children to participate, not just kids with "talent"!

I'm thinking about a way to draw families to our Family Bingo in May and I want to put together a video tape of our children that have those sorts of talents that don't really qualify for a talent show. I'm thinking things like kids who can wiggle their ears, or touch their nose with their tongues...you know the kind of stuff parents would call you out in front of company to perform. Then we'll have the World Premier of the tape at the event and hopefully get folks more and more interested to attend.

Has anyone done something like this...? Just looking for suggestions.
