Survivor Family Fun Night Ideas Requested

I absolutely love the balloon idea for a torch, then popping it as they get voted off the island. That idea never occurred to me, thanks a lot.

Of course I just read in the paper yesterday about the great helium shortage, so I will have to see if they jacked up the price of helium filled balloons. I didn't realize helium was really a "natural resource", I thought they just have a machine that makes helium. You learn something new every day.

Working off of Crew's idea----

For Round 3 to eliminate some people--you could ask questions about the school and have them write the answwers on dry erase boards. you could ask like brain teaser kinds of questions and eliminate those with the wrong answers.

Skyview - you're the funnest! I want to be at your school!!!

I have just a couple of random ideas right off the top of my head. I'll think about it some more and maybe post later too.

Torch extinguished - Helium balloon popped

Voted Off:
Round One: Everyone reaches into a bag for a colored token. RED is out, GREEN is in for the next round. Have five red ones so the group is reduced by five. Maybe throw in one GOLD token. Whoever draws it gets immunity for Round Two only.
Round Two: Musical Chairs but with five less chairs than people. This could get kind of rowdy by maybe not.... Again, group is reduced by five. Have a GOLD token taped to the bottom of one chair so that person gets immunity for Round Three only.
Round Three: This is where I get stuck but hopefully by now the group has been reduced by 10 and you have only a few more to eliminate. I'll have to think.....

I am looking for any brainstorming ideas that anyone has for a "Survivor" Family Fun Night. I have done Fear Factor, Let's make a Deal, and Deal or No Deal, so figured it was time for Survivor. I usually have plenty of ideas, but I am coming up short on the creative juices with this one. Let me tell you what I have come up with and I am open for any suggestions.

I plan to have a stage, and families sitting at the cafeteria tables. Usually we call out students at random to be the contestants, but this time I wanted every kid to be more involved. So here is what I thought.

Parents and kids would come in and pick a table and sit down. So a full table might have 6-8 kids and 6-8 adults. Some tables would have less, some more. Each table would be their own tribe, so I thought they would take each kids first name initial and come up with a tribe name using all the initials. They would write it on a piece of paper and display it on their table.

Then I would have 3-4 challenges that each kid would participate in at the tables.(Parents will be watching only.) For example, hand out ice cubes with a plastic bug frozen inside that the kids would have to melt with their hands only, no using your mouth. The first one to get the bug out would be the table winner. (I plan to use middle schoolers as my waitresses, they would be supplying their tables with the ice cubes or whatever is needed for the challenges.)

So I have enough ideas for the challenges to be played at the table. So after playing 4 games then each table would have to declare one kid their tribes winner. If some kid wins 3 of the challenges he is the table winner. If a different kid wins each game they will just roll a dice.

Each tribe's winner will then bring their tribes sign up to the stage. But there might be 20 to 30 tribes, so that's too many kids to have for the final challenges. So I need to randomly "vote" some tribes winner off the island. I could have tribe names pulled out of a hat randomly, and then say the winner from tribe "Gigglebutt" is voted off. So I am looking for more creative ways to randomly get this group of 20 - 30 down to 8, using the concept of getting "voted" off the island.

Then we would have the 8 kids left do more "gross" or elaborate challenges on stage, using the actual challenges to get down to 3 kids and then having the last challenge to declare the "sole survivor".

That is the broad concept. Here are some questions that I am looking for help with.

Ways to randomly "vote" tribe members off the island when I have 20 - 30 and need to get to 8.

How can I make cheap torches for each tribe's winner, and how can we humorously extinguish their torches when voted off? (I am not planning on using real flames, so any ideas on faqke flames?

Any other ideas on how each table should come up with their tribe name.(Such as Captain Underpants secret code?)

I read all the Fear Factor and Survivor entries on www.birthdaypartyideas.com for challenges. If you have a surefire challenge I will like to hear it, but I think I have enough ideas for the actual challenges.

I am looking for any ideas to enhance the Survivor concept. Can I use the infamous Survivor "Buffs" somehow? What about the immunity idol?

Any ideas are welcome and appreciated. Once we have the night I will post again saying how it went and giving specifics on all the challenges.

Just coming up short on the creative juices this time.

Thanks
