We did a jingle bell jog last year that was a lot of fun. All the children wore jingle bell bracelets or held them and did a lap around the school. Then they came in to cookies and milk and letters to Santa/ Hanukka and Kwanza greeting letters. It was short - sweet and a good way to emphasize fitness during the holidays...d

thanks for the idea! it's so hard because we have to be politically correct and yet we want to have the children learn of other cultures... but that sounds like a good idea. thanks!

HOw about have everyone make a paper doll or snowman dressed in their ethnic/cultural background costume?

or how about ask families to bring special holiday desserts and/or appetizers that represent their holiday traditions?

hello to all...
the pta is planning to have a school wide holiday celebration the day before xmas break. all classrooms are going to get pizza but what elese can we do to make it more "celebratory"? we have alot ethnic backgrounds(arabic, african american, indian, mexican, etc..) at our school and would like to somehow have the children do something to reflect that. any ideas? we could have an assembly for the kids to show what they've made, but i'm stummped on what to do! it can't be anything too religous as we don't want to offend anyone.
