We run a Halloween Celebration (can't call it a dance) and the kids really have a good time. No costume contests but we have guess how many (whatever) are in the jar and stick your hand in the box a guess what it is and hire a DJ for a few hours. We keep it simple and offer drinks and snacks as well as sell carmel apples.

Sounds like it would be alot of fun, I don't know if I would try to pull off all 3!
Maybe you could set up a pumpkin decorating table and kids can paint pumpkins.
Have someone dress as a witch and tell a story to all the little kids.
Even a Halloween pinata could be alot of fun as long as you watch out for sticks!LOL

Hi everyone! I am the President of our PTO and we are trying to try new things this year.

Have any of you ever had a Halloween dance, a costume contest, or a haunted house? Or a crazy combo of all 3? We'd have it after school or on a Saturday (costumes aren't allowed during school anymore). I'm just looking for ideas. We want it to be different from a Fall Festival, we usually have one but we're going to try a Spring Fling this year. Our school is K-8th and has 420 students.

Thanks for any ideas!
