The winner gets the whole cake. We let the winner choose fromm a variety of cakes donated by parents. We charge $1 per game, usually more than 10 people per game depending on how many numbers there are. We make quite alot of money off of it. The kids love it. Some kids enter and win numerous times.
We ask our parents for donations of cakes, pies, or plates of cookies, cupcakes, similar baked goods. A winner gets to pick from all the items, usually to take home rather than eat on site.

We do a cakewalk as part of our spring carnival. A local bakery does the cakes for us-we ask parents for donations to pay for them. They are small 8" one layer cakes but they decorate them up really nicely and only charge us $3.50 per cake.
We have a spinning thing (like wheel of fortune) except on a post, with colors between the pegs. people buy their ticket, pick a color on the ground (we spray painted plywood) and then we spin the wheel, whoever it lands on gets to pick a cake or cookies or whatever. we do this with the kids on math night too. whoever the color lands on, has to answer a math question and the kids rotate in line.
