Sometimes Simple Really Works

18 years 1 month ago #120537 by threeboysmom
I had to purchase a cap & gown when my 4 yr old graduated from Head Start! I have two more to go, so hopefully I can reuse it. If not, it will make a fun addition to our Halloween costume/dress up collection. I have not heard anything about a Kindergarten graduation, yet.

When I "graduated" from 8th grade almost 20 years ago we had a ceremony very similar to a high school graduation, but no cap & gown, just nice outfits (mostly). It was a nice way to end one era before moving on to a new one.

I have a great collection of caps from my three that have graduated and can't wait for my two youngest to "cap" it off!

My daughter's continuation is next Tuesday and I am having a time getting her to look at dresses! We did compromise on a pant suit set bt last year these girls were so dressed up! Then again, at our church, the girls are dressed like small brides for their first communion and my guys are stressing over a tie!

oh, NO offense intended,,,,my schhools had NO fanfare til high school...so its all about where youre coming from, your experiences that you bring to the table, that make for eyebrow raisers.
and now that i think more about it, there are more worser things than cap and gowns in K. as long as it doesnt go their heads(pun inteneded), no harm done with the K fanfare!

I graduated from kindergarten in 1970 and we had caps and gowns. I have great pictures of it even. We had an entire program and our class sang "Puff, The Magic Dragon." Ahhhh, the innocence. lol
